The Tennis Smash
When you’re at the net and your opponent either makes a poor stroke or tries to play a lob-ball over you (but fails), it could be time for the smash.
The good thing about this situation is that you normally have plenty of time to position yourself for the shot. The bad thing is that if you miss it, the audience will probably laugh at you.
To get into position for the smash, you should "aim" at the ball with your other hand. The precision of the actual stroke is crucial to get a clean hit. A hundred of a second too early or too late will result in disaster and a point lost.
